Azerbaijan declares 2024 «Year of Solidarity of the Green World»
Baku/25.12.23/Turan: On 25 December, President Ilham Aliyev announced 2024 the «Year of Solidarity of the Green World» in our country.
The document says that one of the five national priorities of Azerbaijan's socio-economic development until 2030 is defined as «a country of clean environment and green growth».
«Azerbaijan has set a goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 35 percent by 2030 as compared to 1990, and by 40 percent by 2050.
Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur, liberated from occupation, as well as the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, have been declared green energy zones.
Creation of green energy and transportation of green energy to the world markets are the priorities of Azerbaijan's energy policy.
With that end in view, Azerbaijan will increase the share of renewable energy sources in electricity generation to 30 percent by 2030, the document noted. -03D-
