Azerbaijan is interested in the South African armored vehicles assembled in Kazakhstan
Azerbaijani Defense Ministry is considering the purchase of armored fighting vehicles (AFV) "Mbombe" in Kazakhstan, according to the Russian Center for Analysis of World Arms Trade (TSAMTO) with reference to the US military review Defense News.
Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry plans to purchase new armored vehicle assembled in Kazakhstan, the project produced a South African company Paramount Group. The contract for the supply of armored vehicles should be signed by the end of 2015. The cost of the future agreement and the number of cars purchased were not disclosed.
According to the source Defense News, the talk is about the delivery of armored fighting vehicles "Mbombe" with the wheel formula 6×6 (in Kazakhstan machine received the designation "Barys").
The timing of the production of armored combat vehicles were not disclosed, but Kazakhstan plans to assemble at least 120 units in 2018. -0-
