Azerbaijan Starts Testing Attacking Drones of Its Own Production
Baku / 17.12.17 / Turan: Azerbaijan has started preliminary testing of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs or drones) with cumulative heads. This is stated in the lengthy article of the defense industry of Azerbaijan at the most modern and perfect stage of development by the Minister of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan, Yaver Jamalov, published in the official press on Sunday.
According to him, the drone will have the ability to detect and destroy both the enemy's living force and military equipment. In addition, negotiations are being held with a number of countries to create electrical impulse weapons.
Azerbaijan has established a joint venture with the Israeli company Aeronautica for the production of UAVs for various purposes.
Negotiations are also being conducted with the Turkish company Aselsan and it has already been decided to establish a service department at the Alov plant. "In 2018, we intend to implement projects with a number of Turkish companies, as well as relevant structures of other countries," he added.
A project of the kind is the creation and deployment of a sniper rifle with a caliber of 23 millimeters. The aiming range of the sniper rifle will be 3 thousand meters.
Along with this, we are developing devices capable of landing UAVs of the enemy. "At the same time, projects related to the transfer of uncontrolled air bombs into a controlled version will be carried out," the Minister continued.
He also noted that in the near future it is planned to open two plants - hot stamping and machining of shells of different caliber for artillery and tank guns, as well as the production of cartridges for these shells.
According to the Minister, work is also proceeding to create factories for the production of explosive substances used in the manufacture of ammunition - pyroxylin, gunpowder, TNT and hexogen. -06D--
