Azerbaijan to Continue Its Assistance to Afghanistan
On May 12, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov spoke at a NATO event in Antalya, Turkey.
According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, Mammadyarov spoke about Azerbaijan's participation in NATO missions in Afghanistan and cooperation with the Alliance.
In particular, he noted the country's role in the safety program ISAF (International Security Assistance Force), support of security and the Afghanistan government agencies, training their staff and providing financial assistance to the country.
"This support is long-term and Afghan specialists are trained in Azerbaijan free of charge," he said.
Further, the Minister spoke about the new energy projects in Azerbaijan, TANAP and TAP, and the geopolitical role of the country and answered questions. -03D-
