Baku / 01.01.22 / Turan: In the past year, Azerbaijan has strengthened relations with all international organizations, as well as with Turkey and Russia. Relations with Georgia and Iran are strengthening. A platform for multilateral cooperation is being formed. This was stated by the head of state Ilham Aliyev in his New Year address to the citizens of the country.
“I hope that someday we will have good neighborly relations with Armenia too. Having accepted the results of the Second Karabakh War, Armenia can also increase its role in the regional framework. I hope that the agreements reached in Sochi and Brussels will be implemented in 2022, ”Aliyev said.
In 2022, the country's military power will increase, new weapons and equipment will be acquired. Special attention will be paid to the special forces and their number will increase. In 2021, a new type of troops was created in Azerbaijan - the Commando Forces. These are troops of rapid deployment, with very large capabilities.
In addition, a modern military infrastructure will be created in the liberated territories. All this together will ensure the military superiority of Azerbaijan, Aliyev said.
Large funds will be invested for social projects in the liberated territories with the aim of returning the population there.
Particular attention is paid to the restoration of the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, the city of Shusha.
“In 2022, we will celebrate the 270th anniversary of the city founded by Panahali Khan in 1752. Considering this glorious date and with the aim of accelerating the restoration of Shusha, I declare the new year the "Year of the city of Shusha," Aliyev said in conclusion. -02D-
