Azerbaijan, within framework of GUAM ministerial meeting, expressed support for integrity of Ukraine
Baku/21.09.22/Turan: Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov attended the 39th meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development of GUAM which was held within the framework of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
The meeting was also attended by the Foreign Ministers of Georgia - Ilya Darchiashvili, Moldova - Niku Popescu and Ukraine - Dmitry Kuleba.
Bayramov informed his colleagues about efforts to eliminate consequences of the conflict with Armenia, measures for rehabilitation and reconstruction, the return of internally displaced persons, projects for the reintegration of ethnic Armenians living in the region, as well as the mine danger.
It was stressed that within the framework of trilateral statements and agreements between the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia, the work is underway to open transport communications.
Besides, Azerbaijan has put forward a proposal for peace agreement. This notwithstanding, Armenia hinders the peace process, seriously violates its obligations under the Trilateral Statements, and in recent months has launched large-scale military provocations.
When it comes to the situation in Ukraine, Bayramov stressed the importance of solving the problem diplomatically in line with the international law, in accord with the principles of territorial integrity within the internationally recognized borders of states.
The Minister noted that Azerbaijan has so far provided humanitarian aid to Ukraine in the amount of 15 million euros.
The meeting participants signed a protocol on the rules for establisjing the country of origin of goods as applied to the Agreement on the Establishment of Free Trade Zone and the Convention of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM on mutual assistance in the field of consular issues. -06B-

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) today issued five rulings on applications from Azerbaijan. The case of "Afgan Mammadov v. Azerbaijan" concerned the complainant's exclusion from the Bar Association. Mammadov was expelled based on a complaint filed by a colleague, which he considered unjust. The ECHR ruled that Mammadov's rights had been violated and ordered Azerbaijan to pay him €5,000 in compensation for moral damage and €1,000 to cover legal costs.

During the ongoing COP29 climate conference in Baku on November 14, a group of activists staged a protest condemning Russia's aggression against Ukraine. The activists also denounced countries that supply oil and weapons to nations waging aggressive wars. The protest featured placards with slogans such as: "From fossil fuels to peace!", "End war crimes!", "Punish the aggressor!", and "Phase out fossil fuel use to achieve peace!" among others.
