Azerbaijani Army Starts Large-scale Exercises
Baku / 16.04.17 / Turan: On April 16, the Azerbaijani army started six-day large-scale exercises, in which 30,000 servicemen take part.
The exercises involve more than 250 tanks and armored vehicles, up to 200 rocket-artillery units of different caliber, multiple rocket launchers and mortars, 25 combat aircraft for various purposes, as well as new radio electronic reconnaissance and unmanned aerial vehicles.
The exercises are conducted, according to the plan approved by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
The Defense Ministry press service reported the exercises are conducted to check the combat readiness of the troops, as well as control and interaction in conditions close to combat. -0 ---

On the evening of February 5, it was reported that journalist Shahnaz Beylargizi had been arrested. She had been a presenter on the Toplum TV channel for several years. After a criminal case was initiated against the channel in March 2024 and nearly all of its staff were arrested, Beylargizi was questioned multiple times. According to relatives, the police conducted a search of her apartment.
