Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry: Armenian Leadership Recognizes Implementation of Aggression Policy
Baku / 09/02/19 / Turan: Congratulation by the President and Prime Minister of Armenia of the puppet regime created in the occupied territories on the "Independence Day" is another undisguised recognition by the Armenian leadership of the aggression policy of Yerevan. This was stated in a comment by the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan.
"The fact that the Prime Minister and the President of Armenia congratulated the puppet separatist regime created by the aggressor state in the territories of Azerbaijan under the occupation by the Armenian armed forces on the so-called "Independence Day" is a clear and undisguised recognition of the aggressive policy of this country," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
A visit, along with the political leadership of Armenia, of the heads of its diplomatic missions to the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan and the surrounding areas shows that the aggressor country is trying to consolidate the status quo based on the results of the policy of aggression, accompanied by a gross violation of norms and principles of international law. Such actions are seriously detrimental to efforts to resolve the conflict peacefully, the press release says.
"The recent completely groundless statements of the Armenian leadership and the steps it has taken are aimed at convincing themselves and their people of the "justification" of their illegal actions. Otherwise, how else can you characterize the holding of the "Independence Day" on parts of the internationally recognized territories of Azerbaijan, the "independence" of which is not recognized by any state in the world, and the occupation is condemned in numerous documents and resolutions adopted by the international community," the press release emphasized.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry emphasizes that the conflict can be resolved only on the conditions of the return of the occupied territories of Azerbaijan and the joint peaceful coexistence of the two communities of the region.
"There is no other solution to the conflict, and mediators in the person of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs and the entire world community understand this very well," the statement of the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in conclusion. -06D--
