Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry: Pashinyan undermines peace process
Baku/06.08.19/Turan: The aggressive statements of the Prime Minister of Armenia contradict the spirit and essence of many years of negotiations to resolve the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, including discussions during recent meetings between Baku and Yerevan, stated the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry on Tuesday in response to a speech by Nikol Pashinyan in Nagorno-Karabakh.
"Speaking at the opening of the so-called "Pan-Armenian Games" in the city of Khankendi, Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, occupied by the Armenian Armed Forces, on August 5, the Prime Minister of Armenia voiced populist statements that are far from reality," the statement said.
The statement that Nagorno-Karabakh is Armenia is a strong blow to the negotiation process through the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group. Azerbaijan will never reconcile with the occupation of its territories and will continue efforts to liberate the occupied lands.
Responsibility for tensions in the region, striking to resolve the conflict peacefully lies entirely with Armenia, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement. -02D-
