Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry strongly condemned Armenia's provocation against Lachin checkpoint
Baku/15.06.23/Turan: The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the provocation against the Lachin checkpoint, following which an Azerbaijani border guard was wounded.
"We strongly condemn the military provocation of the Armenian armed forces at the Lachin border checkpoint, as a result of which a serviceman of the State Border Service was wounded on June 15," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
This military provocation, along with aggression against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, aims to hinder the successful operation of the border checkpoint, the safe, free and unhindered passage of Armenian residents, as well as movement along the Lachin road, the document further notes.
"The military provocation of Armenia, which cannot digest the free movement of Armenian residents through the checkpoint, is a vivid example of the fact that Armenia is not interested in establishing relations with Azerbaijan and in the peace process," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry stressed.
Such military provocations of Armenia, the statement of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry further states, "will be resolutely suppressed, and the attempts of the Armenian side to prevent the reintegration of the Armenian residents of Azerbaijan into our society will fail."
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry called on the international community to strongly condemn this provocation by the Armenian side and warn Armenia against aggressive actions that threaten peace and stability in the region. -06B-
