Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Surprised with US Department of State's Recommendation
Baku / 11.01.18 / Turan: The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry expressed surprise at the inclusion of the country in the number of states that the US Department of State recommends American citizens not to attend because of security threats.
In particular, exercise increased caution in Azerbaijan due to the risk of terrorism.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman Hikmet Hajiyev said that over the past year the flow of tourists to Azerbaijan increased by 24%, amounting to 2.7 million people.
A number of international events took place in Baku: European Games, Formula-1 races, Islamic Solidarity Games, etc., as well as meetings between the heads of military headquarters of Russia and the US, Russia and NATO.
Therefore, the Department of State's recommendation sounds "surprising," Hajiyev said. Holding such authoritative events is connected with ensuring high stability, security and public order in the country. With the exception of the territories occupied by the armed forces of Armenia, the Azerbaijani government fully ensures security and controls the operational situation, he said. -06D--
