Azerbaijani parliament suspends its participation in the PA "Euronest"

Azerbaijani parliament adopted a resolution on beginning procedures for termination of its participation in the Parliamentary Assembly "Euronest".

The Azerbaijani MPs believe that the European Union must put an end to activities against Azerbaijan, to abandon the practice of taking under the influence of various forces biased resolutions against Baku, based on unfounded accusations. At the same time, it calls  on constructive forces of the European Parliament to intensify their efforts in order to prevent activities that are detrimental to the European Parliament.

The resolution calls on to condemn lobby groups represented  in the European Parliament providing political support to the occupation of Azerbaijani lands, as well as put an end to such activities.

 The Milli Majlis demanded from the European Parliament to abandon attempts  of putting  pressure on the judicial system of Azerbaijan, as well as calls to abandon the observation of the forthcoming parliamentary elections on November 1 in the country.

In addition, the Milli Mejlis has warned that in case the visa sanctions against Azerbaijan, Baku will also consider the question on restrictions of the entry of representatives of the European Parliament and EU officials.

The document also emphasizes the need for revising the format of the activities of Azerbaijan within the framework of the "Eastern Partnership" of the EU. The document was adopted on the basis of heated discussions, organized in connection with the adoption by the European Parliament on 10 September of the resolution on human rights violations in Azerbaijan. -06D--
