Azerbaijani President "s New Year Address is devoted to the history
In his New Year address the Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev, called the year 2013 a period of dynamic development.
In a televised address on the night of December 31 Aliyev talked only about the results of the outgoing year, noting only successes in the international arena and in national building.
The only topic that caused president’s regret , as before, was the Karabakh conflict; according to Aliyev, it is impossible to resolve the problem because of violations of international law in the world. "The Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict should be resolved within the territorial integrity of our country," Aliyev said, noting that "in order to achieve this we need to become even stronger , have more powerful army, and ensure economic development."
In general, judging by the text of the televised address, Aliyev was pleased with the results of the 2013 year. However, he said nothing about future plans and outlined guidelines for citizens of Azerbaijan for 2014 , as President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel did it. Merkel even marked the national motto in 2014 for the always successful Germans, "I dare to do it!"
It is unclear yet what the president of Azerbaijan is going to do in 2014, although his speech was longer than speeches of Putin and Merkel. However, practice of the past years shows that Christmas surprises do not have to wait long , and citizens of the country will be soon familiarize with them.—0—
