Azerbaijani-Turkmen Agreements Signed in Ashgabat (updated)

Baku / 22.11.18 / Turan: On Thursday morning in Ashgabat at the end of the meeting between the Presidents of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, negotiations continued with the delegations of the two countries.

During the meeting, the parties noted the successful partnership in the trade and economic sphere, fuel and energy, diversification of transport flows, as well as cooperation in the fight against international terrorism and drug trafficking. At the end of the negotiations, the signing ceremony of bilateral documents took place.

The Heads of State signed a joint statement.

Next were signed: Intergovernmental Agreement on long-term trade and economic cooperation;

The program of trade and economic cooperation for 2019-2021;

On the promotion and mutual protection of investments;

On the elimination of double taxation on income and property;

Cooperation in the field of industry;

The program of cooperation in the field of transport for 2019-2022;

On the establishment of the Turkmen-Azerbaijani Joint Commission on Transport, Transit and Logistics;

On the development of international transportation by sea through the ports of the two countries;

On simplification of the visa regime for participants in international transport on the territory of the two countries;

The agreement between the ports of Turkmenbashi and the Baku Sea Port on automated information exchange, the growth of shipping and increase in the volume of cargo transshipment;

The agreements between railway and transport departments of the two countries on transport and transit issues;

The agreement between the customs authorities of the two countries on the exchange of information and a number of other documents. -02D-

Package of Azerbaijani-Turkmen Agreements to Be Signed

Baku / 22.11.18 / Turan: During the official visit of Ilham Aliyev to Turkmenistan, a large package of bilateral intergovernmental agreements will be signed. This was stated by Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, commenting on Aliyev"s visit to Ashgabat that started yesterday.

According to him, future agreements are aimed at further enhancing and building up mutually beneficial cooperation.

On November 22, the official welcoming ceremony of Ilham Aliyev was held in Ashgabat. After that, he began a one-on-one meeting with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov. -02D-
