Aziz Orujov Faces Health Problems
Baku / 30.03.18 / Turan: The state of health of Aziz Orujov, director of Internet TV Canal 13, who is imprisoned in jail, has deteriorated. The journalist Lamia Orujova, spouse of the journalist, wrote about this on her Facebook page.
"On March 29 I spoke to Aziz on the phone. He had serious problems - pains in the kidneys increased, which led to an increase in blood pressure. His left hand is going numb and he has dull pains in his chest. Aziz asked me to bring him the necessary medicine," she said.
The penitentiary service has not yet commented on the statement of the spouse of the arrested journalist.
Aziz Orujov was arrested on May 2, 2017 for 30 days on charges of an administrative offense - disobedience to the police. At the end of this period, he was charged on criminal paragraphs: 192 (illegal business) and 308 (abuse of official powers). Subsequently, he was sentenced to 6 years imprisonment, not pleading guilty. Human rights organizations recognize him as a political prisoner.
