Oilmen Evacuated from Sea Because of Storm
Baku / 30.03.18 / Turan: On March 30, more than 1,000 oilmen were evacuated from the offshore platforms of the State Oil Company (SOCAR) in connection with the stormy weather expected on March 30 and 31.
Weather forecasters predict that the wind speed in the open sea will reach 30-35 meters per second.
The evacuation of oil workers was carried out by helicopters and ships.
According to SOCAR, work in the offshore fields in the open air and the transportation of transport and staff on overpasses and platforms is limited.
In addition, instructions have been given for bringing buildings and installations into a safe state, and duty has been organized.
Such security measures are explained with several tragic events on the sea overpasses, when more than 40 oilmen perished during the last 2-3 years as a result of the collapse of overpasses and fires during storms. -06B-
