Baku and Kabul Intend to Strengthen Economic Cooperation
Baku / 02.12.17 / Turan: During the visit of the Afghan President to Baku, questions were discussed about Azerbaijani investments in this country. Issues of development of industry and agriculture, energy, oil and gas, and extractive industries were also considered. This was announced by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at a joint press conference with Ashraf Ghani, President of Afghanistan, on December 1.
The issues of implementation of large-scale transport projects were considered separately. "The connection of our countries with the Central Asian and European railway networks is indeed a historic achievement," Aliyev said.
In response, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani said about the successful cooperation in the application of Azerbaijan's experience in providing services to the population, in particular, about the application of the ASAN service in Afghanistan.
Azerbaijan plays an important role in supplying NATO forces in Afghanistan. Thanks to the availability of such a transportation line, Kabul gets access to Europe and back. The creation of a new multimodal transport corridor provides even greater opportunities, Ghani said.
In conclusion, he noted that Afghanistan fully supports the fair position of Azerbaijan in the Karabakh settlement. -02D-
