Baku refutes reports of low-quality weapons from Russia
Baku/29.03.18/Turan: The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense has refuted the publications of a number of Russian and Belarusian mass media about deliveries of low-quality weapons from Russia. "Officially, we declare that such reports are not true and are provocative," the military department said in a statement.
The message noted that the Ministry of Defense pays special attention to the quality of purchased weapons in the producing countries. At the same time, the best and most effective military products are carefully selected and purchased.
"New Russian armament adopted by the Azerbaijani army meets the increased demands placed on modern systems and significantly enhances the firepower of the units," the report said.
The information on the supply of low-quality military products from Russia was published in the Belarusian edition of bekprauda.org. According to this source, Baku is very unhappy with the state and quality of military-technical cooperation with Moscow and is trying to find an alternative to this cooperation in Belarus.
So, late last year, during the closed Russian-Azerbaijani meeting Baku raised the issue commission for military-technical cooperation, many claims were made to the quality of Russian weapons. This concerned tanks T-90S, BMP-3, BTR-82, SAU "Msta-S", MLRS "Smerch", ZRC "Tor-M2" and other Russian weapons. It was said about the inconsistency of the supplied equipment with the promised standards, a large number of faults, the lack of technical documentation, and the lack of component parts.
The Azeri side noted that the missiles for the Smerch MRLS did not explode when firing, ammunition to the BTR-82A machine guns did not reach the target, while helicopters Mi-35 permanently recorded breakdowns that prevented the engine from launching, violated the missile firing system, etc. message of the Belarusian edition. -02D-
