Baku Rejects International Criticism
Baku / 26.09.16 / Turan: The conclusion of the Council of Europe Venice Commission on constitutional amendments is no authority for official Baku. This is the general meaning of the statement of the Assistant on Social and Political Issues to the President of Azerbaijan, Ali Hasanov.
‘If the Venice Commission had addressed to the Azerbaijani side to send them the draft for examination, we would have sent it to them. However, without asking this question seriously, they announced an ordered conclusion,’ Hasanov said to journalists on Monday, commenting on the opinion of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe.
According to him, Baku “adequately” relates to the criticism from international organizations that “give such statements against Azerbaijan by the order.”
‘The Azerbaijani government cooperates with these organizations in the framework of the interests and will of the Azerbaijani people. We have submitted the referendum act to the will of the people. If the people say “yes”, then the act will be implemented on the initiative of the President. If the people say “no”, then this initiative will take its place in history as not supported,’ Hasanov said. -06D--
