Baku wants to open Lachin one-way corridor - Pashinyan
Baku/24.08.23/Turan: Yerevan has handed over to Baku a new package of proposals on the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was announced by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a government session on Thursday.
At the same time, the Prime Minister said that Baku "torpedoes the dialogue with Stepanakert by various means, trying to put the responsibility for the breakdown on Nagorno-Karabakh."
"Armenia's position remains the same - the issues of the rights and security of the residents of Nagorno-Karabakh should be resolved at the talks between Stepanakert and Baku, within the framework of international mechanisms," Pashinyan said.
He further stated that he has "reliable information about Baku's intention to open the Lachin corridor unilaterally. This is about allowing people to leave Nagorno-Karabakh and prohibiting entry."
He said that Baku's goal is "deportation of Nagorno-Karabakh residents through ethnic cleansing." -0-

The head of state is a state manager hired for a certain period of time, not a "shadow of the Almighty". This was stated by Kazakhstani President Kasym Zhomart Tokayev in an interview with Ana Tili. He criticised his predecessor Nursultan Nazarbayev and actually accused him of provoking mass riots in the country in January 2020.

Azerbaijan is positioning itself as a key energy partner for Europe amidst growing challenges in the natural gas market following the cessation of Russian gas transit through Ukraine. The disruption, marking the end of a decade-long transit route, is expected to heighten competition in the global liquefied natural gas (LNG) market and drive up prices for alternative energy sources.
