Bayramov and Borrell discussed the situation in the region
Baku/08.09.23/Turan: On Friday, September 8, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov had a telephone conversation with the High Representative of the European Union for External Relations and Security Policy, Josep Borrell. This is stated in a message from the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
Bayramov and Borrell discussed the prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union, the current situation in the region and the process of normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
As Bayramov emphasized, Armenia’s ongoing military-political provocations and statements against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan do not serve peace and stability in the region. He noted the importance of preventing these provocations by Armenia.
He also drew attention to Armenia’s failure to agree on the simultaneous launch of cargo along the Agdam-Khankendi and Lachin-Khankendi roads.
It was also emphasized that the main source of threat in the region is the Armenian armed forces, which have not yet been withdrawn from the territories of Azerbaijan and are directly supported by Armenia.
During the conversation, an exchange of views also took place on other issues of mutual interest.—06B-
