Bayramov met with Ambassadors of European countries
Baku/21.10.23/Turan: Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a meeting with the heads of diplomatic missions of European countries accredited in Azerbaijan on October 20, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reports.
The current state and prospects of relations between Azerbaijan and European countries, the regional situation after Azerbaijan's anti-terrorist measures, as well as the issues of normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan were discussed at the meeting.
Bayramov recalled that since the signing of the trilateral declaration on November 10, 2020, Azerbaijan has repeatedly raised on various platforms the existence of illegal armed forces of Armenia on its sovereign territory.
These forces were a source of threat, and the legitimate anti-terrorist measures carried out by Azerbaijan on September 19-20 were important for the establishment of peace and stability in the region.
The Minister reminded that the President of Azerbaijan guaranteed the security, as well as the linguistic and cultural rights of the residents of the Karabakh region. For this purpose, their registration is carried out on the reintegration portal.
While the illegal regime for nearly 30 years of occupation did not allow representatives of various UN agencies to enter the region, immediately after the completion of Azerbaijan's anti-terrorist activities, two missions visited Karabakh, including representatives of the Geneva and New York offices of the organization.
Bayramov emphasized that since the restoration of independence of Azerbaijan and Armenia, a unique historical opportunity has appeared in the region to achieve peace. Also, the Minister answered questions of European diplomats. -06B-

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) today issued five rulings on applications from Azerbaijan. The case of "Afgan Mammadov v. Azerbaijan" concerned the complainant's exclusion from the Bar Association. Mammadov was expelled based on a complaint filed by a colleague, which he considered unjust. The ECHR ruled that Mammadov's rights had been violated and ordered Azerbaijan to pay him €5,000 in compensation for moral damage and €1,000 to cover legal costs.
