Baku/07.09.23/Turan: On September 7, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a crucial meeting with Igor Khovaev, Special Representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry tasked with normalizing Azerbaijani-Armenian relations. The meeting, which comes at a pivotal juncture in regional dynamics, focused on the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as the broader regional situation.

The press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported that Minister Bayramov conveyed his deep concerns regarding Armenia's statements, rhetoric, and provocations that, in his view, pose a direct threat to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan. These actions, Bayramov emphasized, are detrimental to the ongoing efforts and initiatives aimed at achieving a lasting peace in the region.

Simultaneously, the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister underscored that Armenia's rejection of the proposal to enhance the use of the Lachin road in tandem with the opening of the Aghdam-Khankendi road for the supply of Armenian residents in Karabakh calls into question the credibility of claims about a "blockade." Bayramov labeled this issue as a deliberate politicization of the situation, further complicating the peace process.

Minister Bayramov urged the international community to condemn Armenia's actions, particularly in light of the escalating political and military provocations originating from Yerevan against Azerbaijan. Such condemnation, he argued, is essential to maintaining regional stability and security.

Throughout the meeting, both sides engaged in an exchange of perspectives on various topics of mutual interest.--06B--
