Belarus Delivers Next Installment of Polonaise to Azerbaijan
Baku / 28.09.18 / Turan: Azerbaijan has received from Belarus a new batch of tactical missile systems Polonaise, the press service of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reports.
"According to the Azerbaijan-Belarus intergovernmental agreement, the next batch of 301-mm operational-tactical missile systems Polonaise was delivered to Azerbaijan," the Defense Ministry said.
The number of complexes and the amount of the contract is not reported.
301-mm MLRS Polonaise systems were adopted by the Azerbaijani army in 2018. The maximum target range is 300 km.
Earlier, the Russian newspaper Kommersant, citing a source close to the Belarusian Defense Ministry, reported that Baku in 2018 will begin buying Polonaise from Minsk. The first firm contract implies the transfer of 10 sets of MLRS (there are rockets, transport-charging machines, control stations, radar stations, etc.). -0-
