The Secretary "welcomed efforts by both Armenia and Azerbaijan to support bilateral peace discussions following talks on November 7," spokesperson Ned Price noted.
According to him, Blinken "underscored the need for both sides to maintain momentum for the negotiations and avoid provocations."
The secretary also urged continued progress on concrete deliverables to support the peace process, Price added.
No phone call to Azerbaijan has been reported by Tuesday night.
Blinken last week hosted foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Ceyhun Bayramov, in Washington D.C.
The United States believes that continued direct dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan "is key" to resolving their issues and to reaching a lasting peace, Price told TURAN's correspondent following last week's meeting.
