Chief of Russia�s General Staff and NATO Commander to Meet in Baku
Baku / 19.04.18 / Turan: Valery Gerasimov, the head of the Russian General Staff, arrived in Baku for a working meeting with the Commander-in-chief of NATO Forces Curtis Scaparotti, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
According to the same source, the parties will discuss the military activities of NATO and Russia in the European region, as well as the situation in Syria. "During the working trip, Gerasimov will be received by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev," the report said.
Official Baku does not comment on Gerasimov's talks with Scaparotti.
It should be reminded that this is the third meeting of this level in Baku. Earlier, Gerasimov met with the head of the United States Joint Headquarters Committee and the NATO commanders in Europe. -06D-
