Contracts signed between companies of Azerbaijan and France
Baku/13.05.14/Turan : The day before the end of the Azerbaijani- French business forum in Baku were signed 11 documents. In particular, a decision was signed by the constituent assembly of the public association Azerbaijani- French Chamber of Commerce.
In addition, a contract was signed to supply buses for the city of Baku.
Azerbaijani Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov and President of Atstom Transport, Henri Puro Lafarge signed a contract for the purchase of freight locomotives.
The Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation was signed between the city of Ganja and the Shamkir, Goygol and Balaken provinces of Azerbaijan and the Jon province of the Burgundy region of France.
Also signed was a friendship agreement between the cities of Tovuz and Cognac.
In addition, a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of earth observation services was signed between the company Airbus Defence and Space and JSC Azerkosmos.
The parties also signed an agreement on practical training, the exchange of know-how and technical assistance between JSC Azersu and Suez Environnement.
The sides signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park and Air Liquide.
The French company Bouygues Travaux Publics and JSC Baku Metro signed a memorandum of understanding on the reconstruction of the station 28 May and the construction of the second part of the "green segment" of the subway Khatai - Hazi Aslanov-2.
In addition, the same company and JSC Baku Metro signed a memorandum of understanding to conduct primary research and cooperation in the field of education and training .
Along with this, the head of JSC Baku Metro and the president of Alstom Transport, Henri Puro Lafarge signed a memorandum of understanding on the supply agreements . -03D06 –

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) today issued five rulings on applications from Azerbaijan. The case of "Afgan Mammadov v. Azerbaijan" concerned the complainant's exclusion from the Bar Association. Mammadov was expelled based on a complaint filed by a colleague, which he considered unjust. The ECHR ruled that Mammadov's rights had been violated and ordered Azerbaijan to pay him €5,000 in compensation for moral damage and €1,000 to cover legal costs.

During the ongoing COP29 climate conference in Baku on November 14, a group of activists staged a protest condemning Russia's aggression against Ukraine. The activists also denounced countries that supply oil and weapons to nations waging aggressive wars. The protest featured placards with slogans such as: "From fossil fuels to peace!", "End war crimes!", "Punish the aggressor!", and "Phase out fossil fuel use to achieve peace!" among others.
