Court officers confiscate property of opposition activist
Four bailiffs of the Nasimi district of Baku yesterday came to the apartment, where the leader of the youth organization Musavat, Tural Abbasli lives with his parents.
According to Abbasli, the bailiffs did not provide any documents and began to record the property. After that, they demanded that Abbasli should sign the list, but his mother stated that the items included in the list did not belong to her son.
Abbasli called the actions of the bailiffs, tyranny and terror by the state.
As for the causes of the bailiffs' visit, we recall that Abbasli among dozens of other activists was arrested on January 12 and found guilty of organizing an unsanctioned meeting in connection with deaths of soldiers in the army. After the arrest the court fined him at 600 manats, but the opposition activist refused to pay, and filed an appeal. Despite this, the officers of the court came to record his property for purposes of forfeiture. -05B-
