Defense Minister Leaves for Moscow
Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov left for Moscow to participate in the meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the CIS Member States on 30 November.
During the meeting Hasanov will meet with his Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu, reports the Azerbaijan Defense Ministry press service.
Hasanov and Shoigu will discuss various aspects of the military cooperation between the two countries and regional security issues.
Following the talks, it is expected to sign a cooperation plan for 2017 between the Ministries of Defense of Azerbaijan and Russia.
In addition, Hasanov will meet with his counterparts from a number of other CIS countries. -16D06--

On the evening of February 5, it was reported that journalist Shahnaz Beylargizi had been arrested. She had been a presenter on the Toplum TV channel for several years. After a criminal case was initiated against the channel in March 2024 and nearly all of its staff were arrested, Beylargizi was questioned multiple times. According to relatives, the police conducted a search of her apartment.

On February 5, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine. According to the document, the Ministry of Energy has been allocated 1 million US dollars to purchase and send electrical equipment, manufactured in Azerbaijan, to Ukraine.
