Deputy Chairman of the Islamic Party Arrested Again
According to Shirvan City Court's decision, the deputy chairman of the Islamic Party Arif Ganiev was arrested again, the deputy chairman of the party Akif Heydarli told Turan.
Recall that Ganiev was sentenced to one and a half years on January 26 this year, by the decision of Sumgayit City Court on charges of illegal possession of weapons and drugs.
On June 6 Shirvan Court decided to parole Ganiev. But the prosecutors appealed the decision, and the same Shirvan Court in late August reversed its decision to parole Ganiev.
"We can not understand the logic and the actions of the authorities," said Akif Heydarli.
In January-February, law enforcement agencies conducted a series of activities and arrested dozens of Islamists, among which foreign nationals were. Most of the repressed were Shiite activists, who support the Tehran regime. It is this repression that led to sharp deterioration of the relations between Baku and Tehran. -05B-
