Moscow/26.01.21/Turan: On January 27, a meeting of the Vice Prime Ministers of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan will be held in Moscow to discuss the creation of a transport corridor in the South Caucasus, RBC reports, citing a source in the Russian government.

From the Russian side, Alexey Overchuk will take part in the negotiations, from the Armenian side - Mher Grigoryan, and from the Azerbaijani side - Shahin Mustafayev

The parties agreed to create such a negotiation format on January 11, at the first personal meeting of the heads of three states after the end of the war in Nagorno-Karabakh - Russian President Vladimir Putin, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

The main task of the participants in the format is to determine what needs to be built or restored in order to completely defrost transport links in the region.

The Vice Prime Ministers will have to discuss several possible projects at once, in particular, the construction of a railway through the territory of Armenia, which will connect Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan, as well as Armenia and Russia.

Baku also wants to build a parallel highway, and in exchange, Armenia will receive a railway connection with Russia.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Ministers will discuss a proposal to link Armenia and Iran by rail through Nakhchivan.

Azerbaijan has already begun construction of a section of the railway on its territory - from Horadiz to Zangilan, the border with Armenia.

At a meeting on January 11, the heads of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed that the working group should submit a list and schedule for the implementation of projects by March 1. -02D-
