Despite numerous violations during the elections, the CEC of Armenia declared victory of Serzh Sargsyan
The Central Election Committee of Armenia announced the victory of the incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan at the presidential election yesterday.
In total, according to the preliminary data of the CEC, the election was voted by 1,518,407 voters, or 60.05% of the total.
At the end of the counting of ballots from 100% of thepolling stations Sargsyan scored 58.64% of the vote.
The former Foreign Minister Raffi Hovannisian had 36.75%. The third place went to Grant Bagratyan. He received 2.15%. Paruyr Hayrikyan, to whom during the campaign there was an attempt of assassination, got 1.23% of the votes, and the other three candidates received less than one percent of the votes.
A number of opposition candidates and local observers report numerous irregularities during the elections. In particular, they point to the overestimation of voters, multiple voting by the same people, vote buying, pressure on voters and observers, and others. -06d-

Independent journalist Khanum Mustafayeva was unable to leave Azerbaijan on January 11. At the Baku airport, she was told that the ban was imposed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan. However, the reasons for restricting the journalist's rights were not explained to her.
