Dialogue of experts from the South Caucasus countries starts in Kakheti
Baku/29.09.21/Turan: A two-day working meeting of experts from Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia will start in Kakheti on September 30 to discuss confidence-building measures and peace in the South Caucasus. Countries will be represented by both civil society and government representatives.
On the first day of the meeting, confidence-building measures in the South Caucasus will be discussed: possible actions in the information, political and security sectors, economic and communication, humanitarian spheres, including demining.
On the same day, after the end of the consultations, the experts join the Conference program: Regional cooperation as a step towards peace in the South Caucasus, which will be held under the patronage of the Georgian Foreign Ministry on October 1. First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Lasha Darsalia will deliver a keynote speech here.
This meeting of Azerbaijani and Armenian experts is organized by LINKS Europe jointly with the Center for Political and Economic Strategic Studies (Armenia) and the Caucasus Policy Analysis Centre (Azerbaijan).
In July, Baku and Yerevan, the organizers held a preliminary exchange of expert opinions separately. It is planned that the consultations will lead to an action plan and follow-up confidence-building measures. The event is supported by the European Union . –0--
