Baku/16.07.22/Turan: The Cooperation Council between the European Union and Azerbaijan will hold its eighteenth meeting on Tuesday, 19 July in Brussels, chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov. The High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell will lead the EU delegation, reads a press release of the Council of the EU.
“The Cooperation Council will discuss the state of play and next steps of the EU- Azerbaijan bilateral relations, focusing on the EU-Azerbaijan Partnership Priorities and Sectoral cooperation, and the Eastern Partnership and the implementation of the Economic and Investment Plan.
The Cooperation Council will then exchange views on political matters, including regional issues, democracy, rule of law and human rights”, - reads the document. -02D-

In 2024, 249 employees of the State Service for Mobilization and Military Conscription were held accountable. According to a statement from the agency, internal investigations were conducted regarding officials who violated anti-corruption legislation. Disciplinary and organizational measures were applied to 78 employees in 2023 and 249 employees in 2024. This included the transfer of 13 employees to the reserve for negative reasons, and their labor contracts were terminated.

Recently, a member of the Public Chamber of Russia, political scientist Vladimir Kara-Murza, used offensive language towards the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, on his social media page. This occurred after Aliyev blamed Russia for the downed AZAL plane. Kara-Murza considered that Aliyev had no right to address the Russian authorities in such a manner.
