European Championship and Gymnastics World Cup canceled in Azerbaijan
Baku/17.03.20/Turan: Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the European Championship in men's gymnastics, scheduled for May 27-31 in Baku, was rescheduled.
According to the website of the International Gymnastics Federation, a number of other tournaments, which were also to be held in Baku, were postponed: the rhythmic gymnastics tournament scheduled for April 17-19 for the prizes of Yana Batyrshina, as well as the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup, which was to be held 24- 26 April.
New dates for these competitions will be determined later. — 06D-

The National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF) has scheduled a protest rally in Baku for May 19 demanding the release of political prisoners, electoral reform, improvement of the social situation of the population, and the opening of land borders. Earlier, the opposition had already scheduled rallies with these demands for April 21 and May 5. However, the Baku Executive refused to authorize opposition demonstrations.
