Farid Subhanverdiev: I did not ask for asylum and was not in opposition
A former employee of the Azerbaijani embassy in Australia Farid Subhanverdiev sent a messafe to Turan agency in which he expressed dissatisfaction with publications about him in the media. In particular, he denied reports that he asked for political asylum.
"Unfounded messages in media seriously bother me. I declare that I am not in opposition, and did not ask for asylum. I am currently studying at Australian Masters diplomatic University.
Upon completion of my study, I plan to apply knowledge to serve the national interests of my country," the statement says.
According to unofficial sources, the diplomat resigned from his post at the embassy after "like" Arif Mammadov’s critical publications about the arbitrariness of government officials in Azerbaijan.
Another diplomat, the third secretary Anar Hasanov in the same embassy, also suffered after he cliked "like",and was also dismissed from his post. -02В-
