Fate of Detained Youth Activists Unknown
The Interior Ministry denies arrest of opposition members during Sunday's rally.
On Sunday, the National Council held an authorized rally at the site at the driving school in the Section No 20 settlement in the village Bayil, which took place without incident. During the action facts of gross violations of public order and the rule of law were prevented, according to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
However, the journalists witnessed the detention of several activists and pressure on the soldiers' mothers.
So, one of them, Kifayat Askerova said that with her were detained four soldiers' mothers and taken to the police in Sabayil.
In the 9th police station the women were questioned about their political affiliations and took a written explanation, and then released.
The police confiscated posters brought to the rally by the young activists of the Popular Front and broke them. In addition, the activist of NIDA Beybala Mamedov was detained. His fate is unknown. -16C06-
