Festive concert and fireworks will be held in Baku on November 8
Baku/04.11.23/Turan: On the Victory Day – November 8, a festive concert will be held on the seaside boulevard of Baku. In order to prepare for the concert, a large stage is being installed at the "Clock Tower", which the old-timers of the capital call the "Parachute Tower".
On the evening of November 8, a festive fireworks display will also take place on the boulevard. A festive event on November 8 is also planned in the city of Khankendi. November 8 is celebrated in Azerbaijan as the Victory Day (Zəfər günü) to commemorate the victory of the Azerbaijani Army over the Armenian Armed Forces in the 44-day war of 2020. During the military operations, the Azerbaijani army liberated the Fuzuli, Jabrayil, Gubadli, Zangelan regions, a significant part of the Khojavend region with the settlement of Hadrut.
On November 8, the strategically important city of Shusha was liberated, after which Armenia actually capitulated, committing itself to withdraw troops also from the Aghdam, Kelbajar and Lachin regions. During the anti-terrorist operation on September 19-20, Azerbaijan fully restored its sovereignty over the whole of Karabakh, putting an end to the illegal separatist regime.
Recall that November 8 is not a working day. This year, due to the rearrangements in the calendar on the occasion of the holidays on November 8 – Victory Day and November 9 – Flag Day, five consecutive days in Azerbaijan will not be working – from November 8 to 12 inclusive.
Add that in Azerbaijan, the Victory Day is also celebrated on May 9, officially it is called the Victory Day over Fascism. -06B-
