Foreign Ministry Receives Richard Hoagland
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Central and South Asia Richard Hoagland.
As the press service of the Foreign Ministry said, during the meeting they discussed issues of cooperation in the field of transport and energy.
Hoagland expressed support for the initiatives within the idea of the Silk Way and noted the important role of Azerbaijan in this transport corridor. These initiatives will contribute to the stability, prosperity and cooperation in the region.
Mammadyarov, in his turn, said that the development of non-oil sector is an important element of the strategy of Azerbaijan. In this context, there is a possibility of expanding transport infrastructure.
Azerbaijan contributes to the rail, air, sea and information and communication segments of the project Silk Way, he said.
The sides also exchanged views on the Azerbaijan-US relations and other issues of mutual interest. -06D-
