Founder of Az24saat.org site arrested on fraud charges
On August 13, Vugar Gurdganly (Alakbarov), founder of the site Az24saat.org was arrested.
As the press service of the Interior Ministry told Turan, Gurdganly appropriated more than 100, 000 manats of citizens, gaining their trust.
A criminal case has been opened against him on charges of fraud, and he was arrested by a court decision. Lawyer Mehman Muradly believes that the charges under Articles 178 and 178.2.4 (fraud and fraud with significant damage) are unfounded.
He was detained on August 13 and on the same day the Khatai court arrested him for a month and 12 days, the lawyer said. According to the Article, Gurdganly faces up to 5 years of imprisonment.
Recall that website Az24saat.org was blocked by the Sabail court of Baku back in 2018 on the complaint of the Electronic Security Service of the Ministry of Communications.
In the subsequent period, Gurdganly published on social networks and on his Facebook page. His publications contain harsh criticism of the government and state agencies.
