Georgian Azerbaijanis ask Ilham Aliyev to open land borders
Baku/23.08.23/Turan: Ethnic Azerbaijanis living in Georgia have appealed to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev with a request to open land borders so that people can travel to each other.
More than 3 years ago, the land borders between Azerbaijan and Georgia were closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis live in Georgia, and ethnic Georgians live in Azerbaijan. Many of them are connected by family ties, but they have not been able to communicate for a long time.
This petition, which was signed by more than 1,000 people, is also joined by Georgians living in Azerbaijan, the appeal notes.
The petition was drafted on the initiative of Georgian human rights activist, ethnic Azerbaijani Samira Bayramova and posted on social networks.

However, their true goal was to take control of the region, to insert themselves into it, and to push out Russia, as well as Iran and Türkiye, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated at a briefing on November 13.
