Giorgi Chanturia Passed Away
Baku / 10.01.18 / Turan: Giorgi Chanturia, Georgia's first ambassador to Azerbaijan, and later the head of the International Petroleum Corporation of Georgia, died in the 60th year after a long illness.
Chanturia was an active participant in the negotiations on the construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline and was involved in the implementation of these projects.
Giorgi Chanturia was born in 1957. In different years he carried out diplomatic work in Azerbaijan, the USA, Great Britain, Germany, Switzerland and Israel.
In recent years he worked in private companies in the field of energy. -06D-

The health of economist Fazil Gasimov, who is on hunger strike for the 43rd day, has deteriorated sharply. On the night of July 26, he was transferred from the Baku pre-trial detention center-1 to a medical institution of the Penitentiary Service, the economist's brother Nazim Gasimov told Turan.

On July 26, the trial of public activist Bakhtiyar Hajiyev continued in the Baku Serious Crimes Court. Three witnesses were heard.
