Golden "monument" to Erdogan is demolished
Baku / 29.08.18 / Turan: The statue of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan installed in German Wiesbaden was dismantled the next day. According to the German Wave radio, the four-meter-high gilded monument was successfully dismantled and loaded into a fire engine.
The exhibit of the Wiesbaden Biennale Contemporary Art Festival was removed to avoid provocation and to ensure security. "The statue was immersed on the car with a crane. Now it is transported by a fire truck. From our point of view, the operation was peaceful," the police said on Twitter.
The publication Wiesbadener Kurier reports with reference to the chief governor of Wiesbaden, Sven Gerich, that at first the opponents of Erdogan pelted the statue of the Turkish president with eggs, which was regarded as a provocation. A fight broke out, which resulted in the detention of three people.
Earlier it was reported that the sculpture appeared on the street in the framework of the festival Wiesbaden Biennale under the slogan "Bad News". The monument depicts Erdogan, who points a finger at the sky. -02D-
