Greece"s parliament introduced criminalizing denial of the genocide of Armenians and Greeks
Yerevan. 10.09.14.Turan-ArmInfo: September 9, the Greek parliament passed a resolution criminalizing denial of the Armenian Genocide and the genocide of Pontian Greeks in the Ottoman Empire in the early 20th century.
As reported by the Armenian press, the document entitled "Combating Xenophobia" consists of 6 items. It was approved with 54 votes "for", 42 "against" and 3 abstentions. Those who violate the law will be brought to heavy fines or imprisonment.
Thus, Greece became the third country after Switzerland and Slovakia, to criminalize denial of the Armenian Genocide. -02D-
