Demokratik Qüvvələrin Milli Şurasının Koordinasiya Şurasının üzvü Gültəkin Hacıyeva
Gultakin Hajiyeva released from police, but investigation against her continues /UPDATED/
Baku/30.11.22/Turan: Detained at Baku airport in the early hours of this morning, Gultakin Hajiyeva, a member of the coordination centre of the National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF), was released from police around 10am.
"I was detained at half past four in the morning at the passport control on arrival from Brussels. The border guards said I was wanted.
They first escorted me to the air transport police department and then took me to the Nasimi district police department," Hajiyeva told Turan.
As it turned out, a criminal case was opened against her on October 27.
"I have not been in Azerbaijan since the beginning of September. In my absence, a criminal case was opened against me under Article 147.2 (slander for commission of a grave or especially grave crime).
I was not informed, although my mobile phone was open to calls and text messages. Moreover, they put me on a wanted list and appointed a lawyer, who also failed to inform me about the criminal case", Hajiyeva continued.
According to her, the basis of the criminal case was her comment under one user's Facebook post.
"This user consistently wrote offensive statuses of national character, I consider it xenophobia and separatism.
This person is an unknown social media user and a few days later he deleted the post. And now, for a non-existent post and comment, the court declared me wanted," Hajiyeva said.
She added that the court's decision to search and detain her was annulled; however, the court proceedings were renewed and a trial was scheduled for 8 December. -0-
