Head of State Customs Promises to Fight Corruption and Simplify Procedures
Baku / 19.12.18 / Turan: In the outgoing year, more than 100 employees of the Customs Committee were fired for corruption, Safar Mehdiyev, the head of this department, told reporters on Wednesday.
He noted the intensification of the fight against such facts after being appointed to this position in the spring of 2018. Part of the facts related to corruption was transferred to the investigating authorities, Mehdiyev said, promising to strengthen the fight against corruption and simplify the procedures for passing goods through customs, as much as possible limiting the communication of entrepreneurs with customs officers.
Among the achievements of customs, he called the strengthening of the fight against smuggling, in which more than 500 criminal cases were initiated.
Recall that with the change in the leadership of the Customs Committee, cash receipts to the state budget increased significantly, which caused accusations against the previous customs leadership. -02D-
