Heydar Aliyev violated rules in Mexico City
On the night of January 26, in the heart of the Mexican capital was dismantled the monument to Heydar Aliyev.
As the official reason for the transfer, the city authorities called "violation of city planning rules"
The monument in the park area of the central streets of Mexico City was moved to another location.
Aliyev’s monument was erected in the Park of Friendship in August 2012 and Azerbaijan allocated $ 5 million for this purpose.
As the Mayor of the city Miguel Angel Mancera said, the removal of the monument will be paid by the local authorities. For the protection of the location, where the removal of the monument and its loading on a platform for transportation was conducted, at least 200 police officers were brought.
Official information about where the Aliyev monument was transported is unavailable. However, earlier the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Mexico Ilgar Mukhtarov told RIA Novosti that the government of the city reached preliminary agreement on the transfer of a building in the city to the Azerbaijani side to open a cultural center of Azerbaijan there, and the monument will be moved to that location. -02D-
