ICRC representatives visited detained Armenian football players
Baku/01.09.23/Turan: On August 30 and 31, representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross visited three Armenian football players detained on the 28th at the Lachin border checkpoint.
Face-to-face meetings were held with them and an opportunity was given to contact their families, the ICRC representative office in Baku reported.
These persons are players of the Karabakh Armenians football team "Avo". In 2021 they distributed a video where all the team members trample the Azerbaijani flag. At the same time, the Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan opened a criminal case under the articles "inciting national hatred" and "insulting the national flag".
After the arrest, the players admitted their guilt and repented of what they had done. In this regard, the Azerbaijani Prosecutor's Office has released them from criminal prosecution. They were arrested administratively for 10 days for spreading their illegal actions on the Internet. ---16B---

The court records from the trial of Teymur Kerimov, the head of the YouTube channel Kanal-11, were falsified, the declaration distributed by Kerimov's colleagues. “The court documents are distorted. They misrepresented the testimony of citizens. For instance, the victim Leila Almaszadeh stated in court that she had no complaints against me. In court, she said, “Teymur did not ask me for money and did not receive any money from me.” However, the court protocol states that she is complaining about me and demands the removal of illegally recorded videos,” writes Kerimov.
