Ilham Aliyev complains Czech deputies about the head of the Czech Foreign Ministry
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the delegation of Czech parliamentarians headed by the deputy chairman of the Chamber of Deputies, the head of the Czech-Azerbaijani friendship, Ian Gamachek.
During the meeting, Aliyev pointed to the successful development of Azerbaijani-Czech relations on a bilateral basis and within the framework of Azerbaijan's relations with the EU.
At the same time, Aliyev noted the steps made in the Czech Republic against this cooperation, such as baseless, biased statements on Azerbaijan and Khojaly genocide by the Czech Foreign Minister, Karel Schwarzenberg.
Aliyev stated about unacceptability of such statements. He expressed the hope that the leadership of the Czech Republic will express his attitude to such facts causing damage to bilateral relations.
Gamachek noted that the Committee on Foreign Relations of the House of Deputies of the Czech Parliament adopted a resolution on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy, condemning the ethnic cleansing against defenseless civilians, mass murder and genocide.
Last month Schwarzenberg publicly criticized the Azerbaijani authorities for violations of human rights. And recently, according to the Armenian media, being in Yerevan, Schwarzenberg said he does not think the events in Khojaly is a genocide. –16D06--
