Ilham Aliyev expresses condolences on the death of Suleyman Demirel
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his condolences on the death of former Turkish President, Suleyman Demirel, the website of the head of state. "We are saddened by the news of the death of prominent state and political figure, the 9th President of Turkey Suleyman Demirel," the message says.
"He made a great contribution to the deepening of cooperation between the Turkic nations and states. Demirel was a true friend of the Azerbaijani people. His sincere attitude to Azerbaijan was expressed in support our independence and strengthening the Azerbaijani-Turkish brotherhood," said in a letter of condolence sent to the family and the leadership of Turkey Demirel.
